Naukuchiatal is 27 km from Nainital and 4 Km from Bhimtal, this is a picturesque lake with nine corners in nine different directions. The lake gets its name from these nine corners alone. For larger part of the year it is full of lotus and other flowers attracting visitors and nature lovers alike. It has over the years become a popular resort with reasonably good accommodation for the visitors. The lake and the adjoining areas are good for bird-watching. Fishing without permit is not allowed.
