Bageshwar hill station




Bageshwar city situated at a height of 960 meters above see level and covered around 1695.7 sq. km area. The two rivers Gomti and Saryu flowing together and meet here with each other. Bageshwar is surrounded with Nestled amidst cloudy hills. Bageshwar land of “Sadashiva” has attracted saints and devotees through ages; by it’s spiritual magnetism. It is described in “Puranas” that this is the eventual place that liberates one from the bondage of birth and death.

Bageshwar is also a trekker’s heaven. Adi Shankaracharya trekked in the Himalayas in the 8th century A.D., was establish trekking routes in Bageshwar, Uttarakhand. The mountain adventure period which till recently was restrained to the summer months in this region; now covers approximately the full year as well as winter period. Bageshwar is the main entrance spot to the trekking routes like/viz Pindari, Kafni and Sunderdunga Glaciers.

You can reach Bageshwar by Air, Rail or Road. The nearest airport is Pant Nagar at a distance of 207kms The nearest railway station is kathgodam, which is 190 kms. Bageshwar is well connected by roads with all the major towns of the area. Taxis are available from almora (90 kms), Nainital (137 kms), Kathgodam (180 km) and Pant Nagar (206km).
