Naukuchiatal is  27 km from Nainital and 4 Km from Bhimtal, this is a picturesque lake with nine corners in nine different directions. The lake gets its name from these nine corners alone. For larger part of the year it is full of lotus and other flowers attracting visitors and nature lovers alike. It has over the years become a popular resort with reasonably good  accommodation for the visitors. The lake and the adjoining  areas are good for bird-watching.  Fishing without  permit is not allowed. For information on permits please contact the Tourist office /nearest forest office/guide.

Places to Visit in Naukuchiatal

Jungliagaon
This is the scenic beauty area in the Naukuchiatal. This place has been an amazing place for the wildlife photography and an enchanting view for bird watching.

Mukteshwar
This place is a house of an old temple that is 350 years old and the temple is called the Mukteshwar Dham and is devoted to Lord Shiva. This temple is surrounded in the Himalayan ranges. This place is just 20 kms from Naukuchiatal.

SatTal
This place is known as the Sat Tal because it has an interconnection of seven fresh water lakes. This is at a distance of 19 kms from Naukuchiatal. The lake is surrounded by the oak and pine trees. This place is fresh and unpolluted till date. The water at this place is pure and unpolluted. The seven lakes that are part of this place are Purna Tal, Ram Tal, Sita Tal, Laxman Tal, Nal Damyanti Tal, Sukh Tal and Garud Tal.

By Train
Kathagodam railhead is located at a distance of 35 km from Naukuchiatal is the closest rail head.

By Road
It is well connected with nearby cities by road. Many bus services are available to reach Naukuchiatal from delhi.

In summer15 – 30 C and in winter 0 – 24 C and best visited from March to June and September to November.
